Personal Info

Ingrid Silná (1962) studied organ (with Vratislav Bělský) and composition (with Jan Duchaň) at the Conservatory in Brno, and later went on to Janacek Academy of Performing Arts (with Professor Zdeněk Zouhar Ph.D.). Between 2000-2005 she was a student of the doctoral program of musicology and music theory at the Department of Musicology of the Philosophical Faculty at Palacky University in Olomouc. Her master’s thesis is called Francesco Carlo Müller (1729-1803) - Latin Pastoral Mass and Jan Kunert Leopold (1784-1865). It mainly focuses on the musical life of Moravia. She has written the books Hudba ve farním kostele sv. Václava v Tovačově (2009), Chrámový pěvecký sbor Církve československé v Olomouci – Hodolanech (2010), Ezechiel Ambros (2011), František Perna učitel a hudební skladatel (2013), as well as a series of studies in professional journals. She is also editor of the anthologies Music in Olomouc and Moravia Central III (2009) and Amateur Theatre in Tovačov (2010) and co-author of the book Klopotovice - a reflection of community life in the Mirror of Time (2013). She received an honourable mention by the Rector of Palacky University in Olomouc for the books Hudba ve farním kostele sv. Václava v Tovačově and Ezekiel Ambros. She is a co-investigator of the grant project Morava and the World: Art in Open, Multicultural Space (2007-2013), together with the team leader prof. Dr.. Ladislav Daniel, Ph.D. In addition to her work at the Department of Musicology she teaches music theory and music history at the Conservatoire Paul Joseph Vejvanovského in Kroměříž and at the Church Conservatory in Manchester.
