Personal Info

Martina Stratilková (1979) earned her high school diploma in Vysoké Mýto (1997), and then studied musicology at the Philosophical Faculty of Palacky University in Olomouc (MA, 2003). Her bachelor thesis was a monograph providing musical analysis of Josef Suk's first string quartet, and her masters thesis was devoted to aesthetics and music aesthetics of Jaroslav Volek, Czech musicologist and aesthetician. At Palacky University in Olomouc she also continued to study psychology (MA, 2010) and doctoral studies in musicology (Ph.D., 2011). From 2004 she worked as an assistant and since 2010 she has been an assistant professor in the Department of Musicology. In 2011-2013, she taught music aesthetics, psychology and pedagogy at the Conservatory of Pardubice. Her research interests are problems of systematic musicology. She devotes hersef to musical aesthetics and philosophy of music, where her favorite issues follow phenomenological impulses in musicology, developed mainly in musical analysis and aesthetics. She is further concerned with research in music psychology and with music theory.
